Social Fashion Factory started up in Greece in 2015 aiming to integrate survivors victims of human trafficking and refugees into work and micro-entrepreneurism, especially in the ethical fashion industry. SOFFA model is working and it has recently spurred the creation of the film “One for All” from the Swiss-based Director Daphne Bengoa produced by Fluxum Foundation. SOFFA team turned to like-minded people from Europe to help them increase impact by training others in replicating similar ventures or building their own.
Pedal SA from Slovakia possessed the necessary skills to lead such a highly ambitious project. Milan-based Make a Cube incubator joined the team along with Sibiu University from Romania. Spoleczna Social Sciences University from Poland and EOLAS from Spain have already partnered with SOFFA in the creation of SOFE Hub that supports fashion entrepreneurs in starting up socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable ventures. The team succeeded in advocating the project aims to the European Commission and gaining support from the Erasmus Plus Program. That is how the SoG-TIM project was created initially in Greece, Italy, Poland, Slovakia and Spain. Very soon the project attracted the support of the global community.
